1.1 School Profile

President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) is a public higher education institution located in the Province of Zambales, Philippines. It was named after President Ramon Magsaysay, the 7th President of the Philippines, as a tribute to his leadership and service to the Filipino people. PRMSU serves as one of the key institutions providing accessible and quality tertiary education in the region.

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in education, engineering, business, agriculture, fisheries, information technology, hospitality management, and other applied sciences. As a state university, PRMSU is committed to instruction, research, extension, and production, with the goal of contributing to regional and national development.

PRMSU shall be a premier learner-centered and proactive university in a digital and global society.

Mission

The PRMSU shall primarily provide advance and higher professional, technical, and special instructions in various disciplines; undertake research, extension and income generation programs for the sustainable development of Zambales, the region and the country.

1.2 Academic Support System

PRMSU has an academic support system designed to assist students in achieving academic success. This includes academic advising services, guidance and counseling offices, and library services that provide access to printed and digital learning resources. The university also supports students through scholarships, financial assistance programs, and student welfare services. 




In addition, PRMSU utilizes learning management systems and online platforms to support teaching and learning activities. These systems help students access course materials, submit assignments, and communicate with instructors, especially in blended or flexible learning environments.

1.3 Teaching System

The teaching system at PRMSU follows outcome-based education (OBE) principles, where learning objectives, teaching strategies, and assessments are aligned with expected learning outcomes. Faculty members use various teaching methods such as lectures, group discussions, problem-based learning, project-based activities, and practical or laboratory work, depending on the course requirements.




Instruction is conducted through face-to-face classes, supplemented by online or blended learning when necessary. Faculty are encouraged to integrate technology, real-life applications, and student-centered approaches to enhance learning and critical thinking skills.
